Installing hockey stick holders

Installation of Breakaway Displays™ brand hockey stick holders is simple and takes just a few minutes. Each of our products come with everything you will need to mount, in standard wall applications, no additional hardware required.

With each of our products we provide simple to follow mounting instructions.
Below are instructions along with pictures and additional tips:

Package Contents:

  • 2 Brackets (wood piece is for display only and can be discarded)
  • Instruction Card
  • Mounting Template
  • 2 Screws and 2 Anchors

1Lay mounting template along stick shaft. Using the cross-hairs, locate the best bracket location.
  1. Lay template along stick shaft (#1 cross-hair on top handle side), slide template up and down handle to desired position. Center template as much as possible on hockey stick shaft It's a good idea to center the mounting brackets as much as possible on the stick shaft
  2. Be sure brackets will not be obstructed by things like tape on stick, etc. Avoid bracket obstructions on the stick Take some time and plan where the brackets will be holding on to the stick
  3. Be sure brackets will not obstruct autographs, etc.
  4. It's ideal to use #2 cross-hair, but if necessary, use another mark provided.
  5. Be sure brackets fit on stick shaft at cross-hairs #1 & #2 (or desired mark). Be sure brackets fit, and do not obstruct anything, at mounting points Test fit brackets on stick at selected mounting points
2Use the template to find the perfect place (wall, ceiling, etc.) to display your stick.
  1. Hold the hockey stick up to the wall. Check out different angles. Try different looks before drilling holes. use our hockey stick hangers to mount horizontally on the wall displaying your hockey stick at any angle is possible vertical? - no problem with Breakaway Displays brand hockey stick holders
  2. Position template on wall, allowing space off ends of template for the handle and blade. be sure there is enough room for the extra stick lengths beyond each bracket Be sure there is adequate space off each bracket for the extra portion of the stick
3Mark on wall at the two cross-hair positions from step #1.
  1. You can use a pencil or pen, and just push through the template at the appropriate cross-hair, leaving marks on the wall mark at the #1 and #2 template cross-hairs
4Drill two 3/16 inch holes, insert provided anchors and gently tap until flush with wall.
  1. You do not need the anchors if you are mounting into studs. The provided screws will work in stud-mount applications. drill 3/16 inch holes, and insert anchors
5Secure holders to wall with provided screws. Be sure to place felt flaps over screw heads.
  1. On bracket, lift up felt flap, insert screw through felt side first. insert screw through felt side first
  2. Place bracket over anchor (metal side of bracket towards wall) and screw into anchor. insert screw through felt side first, metal side of bracket towards wall, screw in snugly

6Show off your display, send us your pictures!

Goalie Spacers should not be purchased alone. You will also need a set of Original Hockey Stick Holders in order to display a game-used hockey goalie stick.

  • 2 Goalie Spacers
  • 2 Screws (longer than the screws provided with the Original Hockey Stick Holder)
  • Instruction Card

1Discard the screws provided with the Original Hockey Stick Holder and use the longer screws included with this Goalie Spacer.
2Mount the stick as indicated from the directions enclosed in the Original Hockey Stick Holder packaging.
3Place these Goalie Spacers between the wall (mounting surface) and each of the brackets to provide the needed space for the taped knob.

Cross Mount Spacers™ should not be purchased alone. You will also need 2 sets of Original Hockey Stick Holders in order to hang 2 hockey sticks in a cross formation.

  • 2 Screws (longer than the screws provided with the Original Hockey Stick Holder)
  • Instruction Card

( Show Tips ) ( Hide )Mounting Instructions and Tips:

1To hang 2 sticks in a cross formation, you will need to determine the desired angles of the hockey sticks.
2You can tape the two mounting templates together to assist in determining the desired angle (mounting templates are included inside the Original Hockey Stick Holder packaging).
3Generally, a right handed and a left handed stick are required to hang in the cross formation.
4Mount the first stick as directed (directions for hanging a hockey stick are included inside the Original Hockey Stick Holder packaging).
5For the second stick, discard the screws provided with the Original Hockey Stick Holder and use the longer screws included with this Cross Mount Spacer.
6Place these Cross Mount Spacers between the wall (mounting surface) and each of the brackets to lift the second stick over the first.
